Ive been using this for a while now, and right from the first week I could feel how much easier it made staying hydrated throughout the day, especially because it keeps water cold for hours without sweating all over my desk or car cup holder, and the built-in filter does a solid job removing that weird tap taste that usually makes me avoid drinking enough water; the flow rate is smooth and not too tight like some filtered cups, so you dont have to fight with it or suck too hard just to get a sip, and the lid threads on securely without leaking even when tossed in a gym bag, which is honestly one of the most practical things about it since nothing is more annoying than a soaked bag; the handle feels sturdy and balanced, making it easy to carry around work or errands, and the size hits that sweet spot where you dont have to refill every hour yet its not too bulky to hold comfortably; one thing I really appreciated is that the filter actually lasts the full three months without losing taste quality, which saves money and gives some peace of mind that youre not constantly changing parts, plus knowing that it removes stuff like chlorine, VOCs, lead, arsenic and all the junk in older pipes gives a little extra confidence that youre drinking something cleaner; if youre using it for long shifts, road trips or gym sessions, rinsing it out daily keeps the inside fresh and avoids any stale smell, and washing the straw with a thin brush once in a while helps too, especially if you drink flavored powders which can stick around; the black finish also holds up better than I expected, no chipping or weird scratches even after knocking it around a bit, and the double-wall insulation really does keep water icy for hours even when left in a hot car in summer, though I recommend adding a few larger ice cubes instead of crushed for longer cooling; some people worry about filtered cups slowing down drinking speed but this one stays pretty natural, and if you fill it with already cold water before adding ice, it keeps the chill longer; small tip, twist the lid gently instead of tightening like crazy because that actually seals it better and avoids wearing the threads; after using many cheap tumblers before, this one feels like a long-term daily thing that fits work, gym, home and travel without fuss, and anyone trying to drink more water will probbly find themselves carrying it around without thinking about it because of how convenient and reliable it is, and even if your tap water is safe, using this just gives a fresher and cleaner taste that makes a big difference once you get used to it, making it one of those simple items that actually ends up used every single day.
My son has gotten into hiking. So far, weve gone to Bryce, Yellowstone, Zion, Arches, Ouray, Rainier, to name a few. Sure, we stay in hotels, but its only a matter of time until hell want to rough it in the great outdoors. So I thought he might want a way of ensuring he always has access to clean water by buying him this Purifyxx stainless bottle.
Its pretty easy to put together. If you think the water may be a little sketchy, you attach the shorter of the 2 provided straws into the filter, and thread the other end through the lid. Fill the stainless cup with water, draw 5 sips of water through the filter, and spit them out, and then youre ready to drink with confidence. Alternatively, if youre certain the water is clean, you can use the longer straw and use this like any other stainless bottle.
So I put this to the test. Ive always been curious about the quality of our tap water. It smells a bit of rotten eggs sometimes. And Ive wanted to know why. And whether its safe to drink. Have to be honest Ive been putting off reviewing this cup, because I didnt really want to drink water from our tap.
But I manned up and swallowed the proverbial bullet, or in the case, the tap water. As it turns, it l didnt taste as bad as I thought it would. It was strangely a little salty, which I wasnt expecting, and also had kind of a soapy smell and flavor. The same tapwater filtered through this bottle no longer tasted salty. It was actually a little sweet and the soapy flavor was gone, which is great.
But I wanted to know what else might be in our tap water, things that might be odorless and flavorless. So I bought a water testing kit. What surprised me is that the test strip dipped in the filtered water was more or less the same as the strip dipped in our unfiltered tapwater. There was only some small variation in the amount of carbonate and the pH, which Im guessing is affected by the amount of carbonate. Think the elevated levels of carbonate may have also contributed to the salty flavor and soapy smell.
So this bottle works. It successfully removed something in our tap water that made it taste better after filtration. Would love to tell you if the bottle can filter out more dangerous things, but I guess, unfortunately, our water is too clean. Go figure!
Ive tried quite a few tumblers over the years, but the PURIFYXX HydraTumbler has quickly become one of my favorites. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how big and solid it feels. The 40 oz capacity is perfect because I dont have to keep refilling it throughout the day. Whether Im at work, in the car, or out running errands, it holds plenty of water to keep me hydrated.
One of the things that really stands out about this tumbler is how versatile it is with the different straw options. It comes with multiple straws depending on how you want to use it. Theres a shorter straw designed to work with the included filter, which is great when you want filtered water on the go. Then there are other straw options for regular drinking if youre using beverages without the filter. Its nice having that flexibility depending on what Im drinking.
The filter is a great feature. Ive been using it mostly with tap water and it definitely improves the taste. The water comes out tasting clean and fresh, which makes me feel better about drinking it throughout the day. Just make sure to follow the instructions included in the box. Its really convenient to have filtration built right into the tumbler instead of needing a separate system.
I also like the materials and build quality. The tumbler itself is stainless steel, so it feels durable and well made. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and easy to assemble.
Another huge plus is how well it keeps water cold. I usually add ice, and theres plenty of room to use ice even when the filter is installed. My water stays cold for a long time, which is exactly what I want in a tumbler this size.
Despite being a large tumbler, its still very practical to use daily because it fits perfectly in my cars cup holder. Thats a big deal for me since Im often on the road. I can take it with me pretty much anywhere, work, errands, road trips, or even just around the house.
Overall, the HydraTumbler checks a lot of boxes: large capacity, versatile straw options, built-in filtration, stainless steel durability, and great insulation. If youre looking for a tumbler that does more than just hold water, this one is definitely worth considering. Its become my go-to bottle for everyday hydration.
This has been a great tumbler so far. It keeps water cold for a long time, it filters the water, makes the water taste better than from the tap, and looks good as well. I like that the lid screws on and theres a gasket around the straw so that theres little to no spillage if you were to turn it over.
The way the filter works is you take the short straw thats included and insert it into the filter. Then place the filter and straw into the tumbler and add the lid. The straw can sometimes disconnect from the filter if you use large ice cubes like I do. I put 2-inch ice cube to keep it cold and the width of the cube can push the straw to the side which sometimes disconnects the straw from the filter. Its not hard to tell when that happens because when the filter is connected it takes a little more effort to get liquid through the straw.
If you dont want to use the filter it comes with two other straws: a longer silicone straw and a stainless steel one. There are also a couple of attachments for the straws. One is an angled extension that can be attached to the straws if you want a roughly 45 degree bend at the top of the straw. The other is a cap that can be attached so that you can seal the end of the straw. A brush cleaner is also included that makes it easy to clean out the straws.
I would recommend this tumbler to anyone that wants to improve the quality of the water theyre drinking. The filters are supposed to last three months so it should last a while before needing replacing. The tumbler looks nice and feels well built. The straw sometimes becoming disconnected from the filter when using a large ice cube is the only complaint I have against it but thats not that big of a deal overall.
I wanted to try filtered water because I felt like I was smelling chlorine in my tap water. Some days when I would drink for my faucet it would taste mildewy or moldy. Using this filtration system I no longer smell the chlorine and I dont taste "mold" .
This water bottle is double steel walled and maintains the temperature of your beverage. It has a screw on lid. The water bottle comes with a handle and has a small base to fit in most car drink holder slots.
This water bottle comes with a filter that is designed to remove contaminants from your water. Before your first use you have to clean the filter and run water through it. Your first few sips on the straw should be spit out. The filter is designed to last for approximately 3 months of consistent use.
The water bottle comes with two straws. The short straw is used with the filter in the middle hole. The long straw is used for unfiltered water through the flip up hole. Does that also comes with a metal straw that has a silicone sleeve to prevent you from hurting your teeth. There is also a straw cover cap to prevent spills and contaminants.
I like that the filter allows me to make tap water taste better. This filter allows me to use less bottled water but still stay hydrated. The water bottle comes with a straw cleaning brush.
